Ordained TV Star Performs Wedding on MTV

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Reality television star and professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek became a legally ordained minister on July 29, 2009 and has recently performed a wedding for his sister, Denise, for his MTV show Fantasy Factory.  The episode aired on April 2nd, and the network has already rerun the popular episode.  Visit the website for MTV's Fantasy Factory to view the entire episode.

Dyrdek was ordained by the Universal Life Church Monastery.  Despite the incredulity of some of the wedding party, Dyrdek defended his ordination.  "This isn't a joke," he said.  "The state of California recognizes me, Robert Dyrdek, as a man of divinity."  Dyrdek then showed off his ordination credential, wedding officiant certificate, and minister parking pass from the Universal Life Church Monastery.

Dyrdek is the latest celebrity to be ordained through the ULC Monastery in an emerging trend.  Television show host Conan O'Brien celebrated the 1-year anniversary of his TBS show by getting ordained and performing a wedding for a member of his staff.  And Fran Drescher, star of TV Land's Happily Divorced, was also recently ordained to perform a wedding for her show in New York.
