Join Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. to empower teens by attending the 4th Annual "Real Women Like Us - Redefining Our Beauty" Spring Fashions in the Garden and Luncheon on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 1:30 – 6:30 pm.
Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. is launching the D.R.E.A.M. Girl Teen Mentoring to help to continue their mission of empowering women. By extending their reach to young teens, Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. is able to expand their impact on enriching women’s lives by teaching leadership and self-esteem to teens as they transition into womanhood so they are empowered and prepared to accomplish their goals.
This event will be held at the Shriners Silver Garden, 24350 Southfield Road, Southfield, MI. The theme for the Real Women Like Us - Redefining Our Beauty event is “Destined to Excel in 2012”, which will include guest speaker, Brenda Lawrence, the phenomenal Mayor of Southfield, Michigan. Mayor Lawrence is a long-time advocate of mentoring, and continues to expand the boundaries of her leadership. She is currently running for Congresswoman in the U.S. House of Representatives, and has already begun her door to door campaign to get acquainted with her constituents.
The leadership she demonstrates encourages all of us as women, despite our age, to continue to pursue roles that allow us to empower ourselves by being in a position to advocate for women’s issues. She will share her wisdom and knowledge gained from her journey to enrich other’s lives, and provide valuable information to help us teach our daughters to become women of character and to pursue excellence. Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. and the Mayor support the development of girls so they continue to have strong leadership roles in their families and communities.
A spectacular lunch will be provided, along with vendors, entertainment and the fabulous fashion show featuring women just like you demonstrating that Beauty Comes in All Shapes, Sizes, Colors and Ages. You will also be entertained by the Moon Monologue Performance, Poet William Wilson, songstress Kafi Mack, Soloist Shinda Ewells, and the House of Bastet dancers.
Hear testimonials of this fabulous Event:
"Life Coach, Kimle Mitchell produces a top-notch affair. The Real Women Like Us event offered life-changing information, wonderful food, endless networking opportunities and exciting entertainment. The speakers gave powerful presentations leaving the women energized and inspired. It is definitely an event I think all women should experience. Whether you're going through transition or want to enjoy an uplifting afternoon in the company of other great women...this is the event to attend!” …Reene' Ferguson
“I really enjoyed the Real Women Like Us Fashion Show Luncheon. It was inspiring, informative and beautiful. I had a very good time. Although I went to the event alone, everyone was so friendly that I was able to enjoy the company of the members of my table. I also ran into several people that I knew or had met before at the vendor booths. I really look forward to going again this year”…..Manola Webster
A special recognition will be presented to the Mayor for her exceptional demonstration of teaching women to pursue leadership to further the role of women in decision-making and having a voice in establishing legislation that impacts our lives. It is the belief of Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. that a donation of time and money today is a small price to pay to ensure the empowerment of teens and young women with leadership skills and moral character, so they grow into womanhood able to lead our families and communities.

About Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S.
Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. is an organization that offers life coaching and tools designed to empower women in their everyday life. Our mission is to create a more powerful you, by reminding you of the essence you are simply by being a woman.
We encourage women to join together in a Sisterhood, so as we share our stories and lessons with each other in a loving way, it becomes possible to open ourselves to new resources to create new experiences. When we travel through our “dark night of the soul” inside of the Sisterhood, we can entrust our Sisterhood to hold a sacred space for us, until we emerge triumphantly from our own darkness into the new essence we are. We learn to share in the darkness, and to share in the triumphs and victories.
All change is based on personal commitment to ourselves. The theme for Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. is Self- Improvement Simply Takes Education, Redevelopment, and Sincerity, and through this process of education and redevelopment, you can transform your whole being. Positive S.I.S.T.E.R.S. offers a forum for women to take a journey of self-discovery with the support of a Sisterhood, so we all share in the re-birth of our lives.
