Model And Talent Associates, Llc Presents The 8th Annual Maryland Fashion Week Events

April 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Laurel, Maryland – The 8th Annual Maryland Fashion Week (mdFashionWeek|MDFW) presented by Model and Talent (MAT) Associates will take place August 5 – 12, 2012 for a week long overdose of high fashion.  The Governor continues to support the event and recognize Maryland Fashion Week as an official fashion week while honoring a Proclamation each year.  Maryland’s fashion industry has flourished and gained a lot of exposure locally, nationally and internationally catapulting opportunities for designers and talent in the area.  MDFW has done a few makeovers this year after seven (7) previous successful years; the brand has been modernized with a contemporary look.  

This year Maryland Fashion Week has partnered with London England Fashion Group International and the Fashion Politics Magazine out of London to boost exposure worldwide including known fashion capitals such as London.  Two (2) models from MDFW have been invited to participate in the London Young Designer Awards Showcase in October 2012, there will also be two (2) designers coming from London to showcase their collection this year.  MDFW conducted a model call and over 300 models from state to state attended the casting for a chance to grace the stages. The first cover model shoot is complete for the official website and magazine www.mdFashionWeek.com showcasing five (5) of the designers scheduled to rock the runway.  

Fashionistas can look forward to designers such as Curysta, a full figured collection; a fabulous designer from Miami, Florida will showcase a hot new couture line that has the industry buzzing and many more.  Maryland Fashion Week will feature its first Latino International Fashion Showcase, the Washington Premier Fashion Showcase as the events finale, along with a host of events.  Designers, fashion show producers, models, glam squads, media, bloggers, publicists, fashion and industry professionals are invited to be involved in the success of bringing high fashion to the state of Maryland.  

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Performing Arts Scholarship Award and other selected charities to be announced.
