-- Spirited laughter and conversation filled the Yacht and Country Club of Stuart’s clubhouse as women arrived for the second annual Shop to Give fashion party hosted by the Martin County Library Foundation. All proceeds benefit the children’s collection of the Martin County Library System.
Jennifer Salas, Director of Youth Services, greeted guests and shared information about the many great programs the library is able to offer for children and families. Many guests purchased a ticket for a 50/50 pot that Alishia Parenteau won and donated 100% of the money to the library. Thanks to Alishia for being a generous winner.
Vendors set up beautiful tables showcasing their specialty items including gold and silver jewelry, tunic tops, purses woven from organic materials, lily pad pot and pan covers, shoe accessories, elegant purses created with recycled book covers and even vinyl records and jackets.
The women enjoyed a bountiful buffet of salads, cheeses and desserts and noshed and nibbled with new friends and acquaintances. Co-chairs Patty Downing and Nina Ferraro welcomed everyone and thanked them for supporting the programs of the Martin County Library System.
