Amid high unemployment rates, businesses still struggle to find qualified candidates. Many look to fill the gap by recruiting and retaining women.

April 9, 2012 - PRLog -- April 9 2012  In response to employee shortages, political attention , and education statistics, Dallas/Fort Worth business LeadershipGold4Women has launched a women-only corporate training program, aimed at increasing female presence in business leadership.  Using both live and virtual coaching methods, the company seeks to give women the tools and strategies they need to get into the board room.

As much as common opinion concludes that men and women possess equality in the workplace, there are still some remaining glass ceilings for females.  Take, for example, the current wage disparity between the sexes.  Despite the fact that women and men comprise an almost equal share of the labor force, women still earn 22.5% less than men.  And this number only increases as a woman's education level increases. Noticing that across most job industries, corporations were seeking women's leadership programs to bridge the gap, Dallas/Fort Worth-based LeadershipGold4Women chose to craft a program to fill the need.  While the company traditionally focuses on coaching for women as individuals through website memberships, they recognized an opportunity to provide additional value to women through their employers.  Using a combination of executive coaching and leadership training, the company provides corporate programs that teach female executives how to make the most of their individual value, and ultimately increase company profitability from their contributions.  

According to VP of Operations Alana Ferguson, "We find that in industries facing major candidate shortages, like manufacturing, companies are trying to fill the need with women.  But because women still do not receive comparable wages and opportunities, they've become wary of positions traditionally dominated by men.  As a result, hiring companies have tried to up the ante in what they offer their female employees."  To respond to this need, LeadershipGold4Women launched its customized corporate programs that provide female employees the value and opportunity that traditional human resources manuals cannot.

While LeadershipGold4Women certainly cannot affect change overnight, they do recognize that 16% presence in the board room isn't enough.  And with programs for both individuals and corporations, their goal to restore, equip, and empower women is well on its way to success.
