Covington, GA Resident Receives ACCESS Scholarship for James Madison High School Online Program
James Madison High School announced that Chayce P. Burton, Covington, GA, is the recipient of a 2012 ACCESS Scholarship. He will pursue a college prep high school diploma program with James Madison, an accredited online high school.
The Ashworth College Continuing Education for Student Success (ACCESS) Scholarship program was developed by the online school and awards up to $25,000 annually to prospective diploma and degree students who are interested in pursuing their education online in one of James Madison’s or sister school Ashworth College’s 115+ diploma, certificate, and degree programs.
“Education has always been a priority in my family,” said Burton, who plans to attend college after graduating high school and eventually work in the medical field. “I was taught at an early age that education is an important part of life, whether for continuing on to college, preparing for a career or simply for the sake of learning.” Burton is homeschooled and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. The award will allow him to complete his high school education for free.
James Madison High School and Ashworth College are leading online schools. Together they have built a tradition of excellence spanning 25 years by offering students worldwide more than 115 online college degrees, online certificate programs, career training, and online high school diploma options that are affordable and fit the schedules of non-traditional students and working adults.
“Education can take skills - and income - to the next level. And a college degree can set an employee or business owner apart as a professional, demonstrating business knowledge to peers, potential customers and employers,” said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, Ashworth College’s Vice President of Education. “The ACCESS Scholarship program has already proven to be an amazing opportunity for us to recognize deserving students and to help provide the educational foundation that will help set the course for their life ahead.”
“The ACCESS Scholarship program was founded to honor Ashworth’s late President and CEO, Gary Keisling’s personal mission of opening the doors of education to the underserved education population of America, we’re excited to present these scholarships,”
