A New Approach To Watering Plants

Solar automatic watering puts the convenience back into rainwater harvesting for small gardens and potted plants. Using a solar powered pump and a rain barrel the system runs independent of electrical and pressurized water systems.

April 4, 2012 - PRLog -- In recent years many municipalities have created programs to coax residents to purchase rain barrels and water their gardens/pots etc. with the collected water to reduce the strain on water systems during the hot summer months.
How many of these barrels are being used on a regular basis? In most cases, the convenience of pressurized watering is eliminated and replaced with the time intensive process of filling and carrying watering cans in order to manually water plants in pots or in the garden.
The SOL-K12 and SOL-K24 are being introduced to the Canadian market this spring by Irrigatia.ca. The Irrigatia kits use a solar pump and, an easy to set up, drip irrigation system to water hanging planters, patio pots or garden plants with water drawn from a rain barrel or other non-pressurized water source.
Irrigatia garden irrigation kits are the easiest way to water automatically from a rain barrel. An Irrigatia kit will water every 3 hours and will apply more water when it is sunny and less when cloudy. The system can also be adjusted to set the amount of water pumped at each application.
An Irrigatia system will not forget to water plants. It will water the plants when the gardener is on vacation or too busy. Fertilizer may be added to the water source to have the system feed the plants at the same time as it is applying water. Irrigatia garden irrigation kits are ideal for small watering projects. They use a solar powered pump to draw water from a rain barrel, so no electrical hookup or pressurized water hookup is required. They are easy to install and set up, and once the set up is complete they will water automatically with minimal supervision.
