Zlien Survey Answers Question: How Effective Is A Mechanics Lien?

Fortunately for lien claimants and those unpaid in the construction industry, filing a mechanics lien is quite successful at getting companies paid.

The survey was conducted at the start of 2012, and queried mechanics lien claimants from the year 2011.  According to responses, over 64% of mechanics liens were paid without the need for a foreclosure suit or any further legal action. The lien resulted in payment all by itself. Of those paid claims, 82% of them were paid within a three month period from filing.
