Boca Raton, FL., April 4, 2012: Award-winning wine and spirits writer Mark Spivak has launched the website for his forthcoming book, Iconic Spirits: An Intoxicating History.
The site, www.iconicspirits.net, contains information about the book, a digital press kit, and an interactive blog. Subscribers receive the Iconic Spirits blog delivered to their inbox every Wednesday.
Iconic Spirits: An Intoxicating History (hardcover, $16.95) will be published in November by Lyons Press, an imprint of Globe Pequot. Writing in an engaging and appealing style, Spivak chronicles the history of twelve influential spirits that changed the world and forged the cocktail culture. Some are categories and others are specific brands, but they all have compelling and resonant tales. “These are the best kinds of stories,” says Spivak. “They are the type that a writer could never make up.”
Mark Spivak specializes in wine, spirits, food, restaurants and culinary travel. Since 2001, he has been the Wine & Spirits Editor for the Palm Beach Media Group, and is the former wine critic for The Palm Beach Post. From 1999-2011 he hosted Uncorked! Radio, a highly successful wine talk show on the Palm Beach affiliate of NPR. He began writing Iconic Spirits after becoming fascinated with the untold stories behind the world’s greatest liquors. As a writer, he’s always searching for the unknown details that make his subjects unique.
