By: James Harrison The shirt is made from the same 100% cotton Valueweight fabric (160/165 g/m2) as the adults' garments, knitted from quality guaranteed Belcoro yarns and spun using a manufacturing process that's exclusive to Fruit of the Loom in the imprint sector. The fabric is renowned for its combination of printability and softness, making it the ideal choice for T-shirts targeted at children of all ages. Like all Fruit of the Loom garments, the Toddler T shirt is certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and it is also guaranteed to conform to all European safety regulation relating to children's clothing. Every Toddler T undergoes the standard rigorous quality control testing undertaken at Fruit of the Loom's Moroccan factory and, in addition, a metal detector is used to scan each garment for broken needles. "Children's safety is paramount and our customers can rest assured that exhaustive quality control measures mean that all of our kid's styles are totally safe and contain no substances that could be harmful to a child's health" says Joanne Lewis, marketing manager. Available in sizes 1-2 and 2-3 years, and in seven colours, the Valueweight Toddler T is finished with a cotton/Lycra rib crew neck for long-term shape retention, and taped neckline for extra comfort. For older children Fruit of the Loom Kids T-shirts are available in 18 colours, and the Kids Long Sleeve T in six colours (including new heather grey). "The T-shirts' Belcoro fabric features a fine knit gauge that will encourage high quality printing", Joanne Lewis comments. The Girls Valueweight T is styled for fashion-conscious girls of all ages, with shorter sleeves and a smaller collar compared with the unisex Kids Valueweight T, plus side seams with waist shaping. "We've seen a rapid growth in demand for women-specific adult T-shirt styles in recent years and we are now witnessing a similar demand emerging for garments that are shaped, sized and styled for girls", says Joanne.
