April 3, 2012 - PRLog -- iGavel Auctions associate seller Nye & Company’s auction is now featured on www.iGavelAuctions.com until April 17th, 2012. This auction features Part II of the Estate of Andreas (Andy) Albeck (1921-2010). He spent over 30 years at UA working with such renown filmmakers as Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and impacting iconic franchises like the James Bond, Rocky and The Pink Panther.

The Albeck collection includes an array of Asian furniture and European works of art. Some of the furniture includes a Napolean III Boulle-Style serpentine front cabinet, a number of Baroque style carved oak bookcases, a number of terra-cotta busts, pedestals, and a Baroque style carved stone center table. Tapestries, bronzes, rugs and other decorative items round out the collection.

Other collections include a number of highlights. Two stand out pieces of furniture include a Queen Anne carved cherrywood highboy that bears an Israel Sack provenance and a Queen Anne secretary desk-on-frame. Sterling silver, pewter, glass and fine art are also included in the Nye April sale.

A collection of fine jewelry from a private New Jersey collector includes a Patek Philippe 18K gold diamond-encrusted lady’s Nautilus watch,  an Omega gentleman’s watch and many other pieces.

Rounding out this auction are a Martin guitar, vintage hand bags, fur coats, a Steinway baby ebonized grand piano, Bigelow Kennard & Co. seven-piece coffee and tea service and matching tray, and an oversized oil on canvas, Self Portrait, Cui Daoyong, Chinese, 20th c.

Nye and Company recently relocated to a new and expanded location at 20 Beach Street in Bloomfield, NJ, adjacent to the Garden State Parkway and 20 minutes west of New York City.  “It is extremely exciting and encouraging to have finally found a building that is the perfect fit,” said John Nye.
