April 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Six IADT-Detroit Students are working toward being the next Creative Business Leaders.

Troy, MI - April 2, 2012. I WILL BE THE NEXT is a joint collaboration between fashion designer and luxury brand strategist William Malcolm of William Malcolm Luxe Collection, William Malcolm Media Group and IADT-Detroit. Malcolm, a contract employee of IADT-Detroit, selected six IADT- Detroit design students for a ground-breaking branding project that individually and collectively highlights five of the college’s students/alumni and their creative degree programs.

“My goal with this project was to hopefully teach the students how to use their creative talents and develop them into a viable business model utilizing successful business strategies and networking models,” said Malcolm, a Detroit-based fashion designer and brand strategist. “The students and graduates were selected for the project because of their potential to be the ‘next photographer,’ the ‘next studio photographer,’ the ‘next couture fashion designer,’ the ‘next graphic designer,’ the ‘next fashion designer’ and the ‘next game designer.’”

The project features the work of IADT graduates Mariella Amador and Sarah Luther as well as current students Cedric Poole, Neil Jones, Brandon Hurst and Karen Kish. It provided a unique platform for Malcolm to work with the students to develop each of their business, personal and social-media brand identities.  During the several months that Malcolm worked with the students, they each created and developed their own individual brand concepts including color analysis and selection, logo design, client interaction protocols, competitive pricing analysis, products and services descriptions, personal brand identities, elevator speeches, social media and marketing concepts.

The culmination of the student’s efforts was the creation of an independent website that features each of their work both individually and communally at http://www.IWILLBETHENEXT.com .  There are already plans for the next class of students that will participate in I WILL BE THE NEXT II.
