LGD Communications Partners To Support Non-Profit ‘Style Saves’

LGD Communications, a Miami-based full-service branding, marketing and advertising agency, has partnered with local non-profit organization Style Saves to launch its charitable-giving initiative.

LGD Interactive, a division of LGD Communications specializing in the niche service of social media monitoring and campaign management, will lend its expertise in an effort to spread awareness and create exposure for the cause.

Founded in 2011 by fashion stylist Rachael Russell, Style Saves imbues the mission to “build confidence through clothes and give a fresh start through fashion,” by raising funds to provide local underprivileged children with new outfits for their first day of school.

Style Saves is founded on the idea that no matter how rich or poor, everyone has experienced the positive affects of wearing an outfit that makes him or her love the way they look. This idea inspired Russell to form the non-profit charity that enables the less fortunate to experience the innate that comes from wearing a new outfit.  

“We understand the importance of feeling comfortable in our clothes—by looking better, you feel better and as a result perform better,” explains Russell, something Len Dugow, President & Chief Creative Officer of LGD, agrees with.

“When I learned about Style Saves, I knew it was a wonderful organization for LGD to get behind,” Dugow explained.

“Style Saves not only helps underprivileged children by providing them with new clothing, it helps spur their individual creativity- something the entire team at LGD is passionate about,” Dugow added.

Style Saves gives creative control to the children it supports by helping them fill out a “style survey” to assess their likes and dislikes. Based on the decisions they make, the children are then invited to choose the clothing that they want for their first day of school. Dugow also believes in self-expression through fashion and implores that notion to his creative team, which is not forced to comply with a corporate dress code.

In conjunction with The Miami Foundation, Style Saves works with local organizations and schools in the South Florida community to help select individual students in need.  Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Miami and The Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade are just two of the organizations that have partnered with Style Saves.

LGD will lend its support to Style Saves by managing the organization’s public relations and creating an interactive social media marketing campaign.

Matthew Adam Dugow, son of agency owner Len Dugow, is a self-proclaimed “social media MAD man,” whose initials fittingly describe his aggressive approach to digital interactive marketing.

“Style Saves is the kind of organization that can really flourish from having a social media presence. There are so many people out there that can relate with the cause and our goal is to first and foremost let them know this organization exists, and could use their help,” Matthew explained.

“The number of people using social media - especially in the fashion world - is unreal,” Matthew continued, “these are users that can really stand to help a lot of children through Style Saves, and it’s LGD’s goal to help them do just that,” he added.

The next Style Saves fundraiser will take place on Thursday, April 19th at Wood Tavern in Wynwood. Titled “Bingo in the Beer Garden” and hosted by television host Megan Harris, the event will cater to a stylish young-professional crowd. From 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, participants will have a chance to win fabulous prizes, while helping Style Saves raise “fashionable funds” for local children in need.
