April 2, 2012 - PRLog -- The annual Great Cloth Diaper Change Event is coming to The Clothes Line Children’s Boutique & Consignment on Saturday, April 21. The Clothes Line in Old Town Silverdale is the local host for the internationally recognized affair. This year, thirteen countries are participating in the Great Cloth Diaper Change Event as thousands of attendees worldwide celebrate the benefits of cloth diapering in conjunction with Earth Day.

Organizers are seeking to break their own Guinness World Record for most cloth diapers changed at one time; 5,026 participants set the current record in 2011. Cloth diaper supporters tout multiple benefits: cloth diapers are cheaper over the long-term, better for baby’s skin, free from harmful chemicals like dioxin, and better for the planet – not to mention oh-so cute.

The Clothes Line Children’s Boutique & Consignment will welcome The Great Cloth Diaper Change participants at 9:00am on April 21 at 3501 NW Lowell ST in Old Town Silverdale. The potentially record-breaking mass cloth diaper change will take place at 9:30am sharp.

“We are celebrating the healthy benefits of the cloth diapering trend and the fact that more parents are embracing it,” says The Clothes Line owner Ellecia Williams. “We’ve created a fun day of giveaways and prizes and we are inviting all parents that cloth diaper in Kitsap County to come to our event.”

The first 25 to register will receive gift bags. A photographer will be available to capture professional photos of babies and families as well as document the event.

The event is popular, so please secure your spot early. To guarantee a space, you can pre-register online at Event Brite (http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3065389663) or call The Clothes Line at 360-698-3288. Here are a few tips for The Great Diaper Change participants:
1. Register ahead of time and arrive by 9:00am to sign-in.
2. Bring one adult for each baby/child participating in the diaper change.
3. Children must be 39" or less in height to be counted toward the record.
4. Bring any commercial brand of reusable cloth diaper (homemade diapers are not counted by Guinness records), a changing pad or blanket, wipes, hand sanitizer, and toys to keep baby happy!

The Great Diaper Exchange is a free event but donations will be accepted for the Real Diaper Association, a nonprofit organization providing support and education to parents on the simple and healthy choice of using cloth diapers.
