The 4th Annual Burbank International Film Festival opens in September during the same week as the Toronto International Film Festival. And though the city of Burbank is recognized as the Media Capital, BIFF is still in its infancy.

April 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Today there are thousands of film festivals around the world, ranging from high profile festivals such as Sundance Film Festival (Park City, UT) to horror festivals such as Terror Film Festival (Philadelphia, PA). The Burbank Film Festival is in its 4th year and becoming more ambitious; building stronger relationships with businesses in the city of Burbank, local film studios, and television networks.

BIFF offers more than 30 competition categories including feature films and documentaries, to original and adapted screenplays, sci-fi and horror. This year’s board president, Jeff Rector has brought new members to the table with a fresh spin on the possibilities that the Festival can offer. Jeff Rector is the official Spokesman for the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films that produce the annual Saturn Awards. www.saturnawards.org. Jeff leads a team of Board professionals who are rooted in film distribution, talent management, and film studio relationships.

In April, 2012 the Festival board will introduce the top executives at its official kick off and fundraiser at the residence of Personal Manager and BIFF Director of Marketing, Addison Witt http://www.addisonwitt.com. Addison is a long-time talent manager in Hollywood discovering a sleuth of TV and film actors, currently representing actors RJ Mitte from the Emmy and SAG Nominated AMC series, “Breaking Bad,” Max Williams, a new lead actor in the slated, IFC network presentation, “Bullet in the Face,” and Jose Yenque, best known from the Oscar winning film, “Traffic.”

The fundraiser will introduce some of the key players associated with the Festival, sponsors, a bevy of TV and film celebrities, and a roaring 1920’s party at the art deco lobby and rooftop terrace of Hollywood Tower, a Hollywood Hills landmark residence.  http://www.thehollywoodtower.com.   The romantic Hollywood elegance is the perfect setting overlooking the iconic Hollywood sign reminding its onlookers that filmmaking in Hollywood is world renowned.

The Festival office is located in Burbank, and Jeff Rector and Addison Witt are currently in talks with Burbank’s AMC theaters and Woodbury University for screen availability during September. Everything costs more, and the fundraiser is one of the ways the Festival can off-set the cost associated with a more enhanced Festival.
The Burbank International Film Festival is September 5th-9th, 2012 in Burbank, CA. For further details, ticket information, or competition categories visit http://www.burbankfilmfestival.org.
