According to the Biblical expert, the Eliyahu ben David Crossword Contest was started for several reasons. First, he recognized the smarts of his audience. Eliyahu notes, “My readers and listeners are intelligent people who are highly Bible-literate.”
Second, Eliyahu believed his audience was up for a fun “intellectual challenge.” Hence, the creation of the crossword challenge was born. “That’s why I thought it might be fun to host a monthly crossword puzzle contest, with a new crossword on a different Scriptural theme each month,” he explains.
So what could happen if you unlock the puzzle’s mystery? According to Eliyahu, “The winner will receive a free autographed book, CD, DVD, or whatever is being offered that month for the giveaway.” He also says that the winning entry will appear for all to see on his blog each month.
As with any game, there are rules to follow. Here are some of them: first, complete the puzzle interactively on his website or do it the old-fashioned way - “with a pencil.”
Of course, you have to submit proof of your completed puzzle. All you have to do is email him with the screenshot.
