Unisto Launches Innovative Battery-Powered Hydraulic Security Bolt Cutters
Designed for the safe and rapid removal of heavy duty bolt and cable security seals in a wide range of cross border and domestic operations
By: Unisto Ltd
Unisto’s new battery powered hydraulic bolt cutter will remove barrier seals that have solid steel bolts and bushes with a tensile strength of greater than 20 kN. It provides 35kN (approx. 3 tonnes) of cutting force at the blade enabling a maximum 12mm steel bolt to be removed in less than 10 seconds. This eliminates the need to use long handled bolt croppers, which are known to cause musculoskeletal injury due to the physical power required to cut through the steel bolts. The battery is rechargeable and provides about 200 cuts on a single charge.
According to Donald Miller, Unisto’s UK Sales and Marketing Director: “This new battery-powered bolt and cable seal cutter kit meets all health and safety requirements and is easy to operate regardless of physique and gender. It will speed up the unloading process, delivering significant and productivity gains and boosting staff morale, wherever it is used.”
The kit includes a robust carry case which contains a pair of Greenlee scissor action cable cutters for the fast and efficient removal of cable seals, safety glasses and gloves. A spare battery and mains charger is also provided.
