March 29, 2012 - PRLog -- As people scour their virtual history for Facebook Timeline, businesses are coming up with creative ways of using the new layout before its mandatory launch for fan pages on the 30th of March.

In addition to adding a large cover photo and improved navigation, Facebook's new Timeline format for both personal and business pages opens up history for exploration by interested onlookers. Facebook allows users to 'scrub' any unwanted historical information before all will be revealed, but some businesses are looking in the opposite direction.

"We saw a lot of established names like the ABC and Australia Post using Facebook Timeline to record notable dates in their history," said Mr Chak, of Le Domaine Kitchenware. "We thought that this was such an engaging way to explore the history of a brand, so I asked my team how we could make this work for a young company like Le Domaine. Our solution was to explore the histories of the brands that we sell."

If you go to Le Domaine's Facebook Timeline, you'll see a surprisingly long history for a business that only launched in August 2010. "We start our Timeline in 1800, during the middle of the Industrial Revolution and 15 years before the founding of one of our oldest brands, Royal Doulton" explained Mr Chak. "From there, we work our way through history, with the foundation of Andre Verdier and Victorinox in the late 18th century, through to the launch of All-Clad and Circulon in the 20th Century."

Interested cookware historians are invited to explore Le Domaine's Timeline at www.facebook.com/ledomainecomau. However, Mr Chak says they're not done yet. "Over time, we'd love to add to our Timeline more historical developments which lead to our existence today. We think it's really important to acknowledge our history, even though Le Domaine exists on the cutting edge of retailing."
