-- This spring, Amcal Multi-Housing Inc. will celebrate another Grand Opening in Southern California with the ceremony for Mercado, a 60-unit family affordable housing development in Perris, California.
Showcasing a traditional Spanish design by Withee Malcolm Architects, Mercado features a community room with kitchenette and lounge, centralized laundry facilities, landscaped common area with barbeque grills and outdoor seating, tot lot and swimming pool.
“Mercado brings high-quality housing and services to a community with a great demand for affordable homes,” says CEO Percival Vaz. “As economic stability continues to be a huge influence on many families today, it is important to provide affordable options for families who need assistance - Mercado does just that."
Striving towards LEED Platinum certification from the USGBC, Mercado has been constructed with a focus on environmental building and design. The development features many green elements such as drought-tolerant landscaping that conserves water, low-flow water fixtures, and ENERGY STAR appliances. In addition, the majority of construction waste was recycled during the building process.
Mercado will be professionally managed by FPI Management and will include social services and educational programs for residents provided by LifeSTEPs, and is a 100% affordable building that will feature two- and three-bedroom units.
