Follow on Google News | LLS of Southwest Missouri Announce the Man and Woman of the Year CandidatesThe Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Midamerica Southwest Missouri chapter announce that Man and Woman is returning to Springfield, Mo., and we are pleased to announce the seven candidates we have running this year for Man and Woman of the Year.
By: Paige Grimshaw This year our candidates include: Arana Arth, Mercy Clinic Cancer and Hematology; Dr. Garry Brown, Central Care Cancer Center; Seth Elliott, Parlor 88 Lounge; Dr. Gil Fernandez, CoxHealth Center of Rogersville; Man and Woman of the Year is a competition, in communities across the nation, to raise funds for blood cancer research, patient aid, and education. The candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy and Girl of the Year, who are Emma Grace Hepner and Ethan Hite. Every dollar counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of the ten weeks; the top local fundraisers compete for the national titles. Candidates who run for the title of Man and Woman of the Year are dynamic, passionate candidates who are a select group of community and business leaders who use their networking and leadership skills in a ten-week competition to raise the most funds. Many candidates run in honor of a loved one who passed from or is a survivor blood cancer; some candidates are survivors themselves.
