Jessica Watson and Tracy Morrison, co-founders of Pin Savvy Social, a social media consulting team that specializes in pairing products and consumers through Pinterest, praise Gooseberry Patch's efforts. "Gooseberry Patch does an amazing job of maintaining their pin boards. Not only do they pin their own products, but Gooseberry Patch pins unique ideas and fantastic recipes from all over the web, giving their customers a feel for what inspires them and gets their creative juices flowing," they say.
In January, Pinterest reached 11.7 million unique visitors, meaning it has passed the 10 million mark faster than any other standalone site in the United States, according to a recent article in PC Magazine (http://www.pcmag.com)
Gooseberry Patch joined Pinterest in October 2011, and since early 2012 has focused on creating dozens of new inspirational boards, such as Craftroom, Country Garden and Farmhouse, which have gained thousands of followers and "repins."
"By actively engaging on Pinterest and not just using it for self-promotion, companies like Gooseberry Patch can strengthen relationships with their customers and also get more insight into what potential customers are most interested in," say Watson and Morrison.
"Pinterest is a valuable tool for Gooseberry Patch because it gives us a fun, visual way to interact with our customers, as well as introduce new people to the brand," says Vickie Hutchins, co-founder of Gooseberry Patch. "We've also noticed a significant increase in the amount of web traffic that Pinterest is driving to us."
More companies are joining Pinterest every day, including the Today Show, Esty, Southwest Airlines and Sony Electronics. Businesses have a big incentive to join the Pinterest, which attracts about 2.2 million active users each day and 12 million each month., according to PC Magazine.

Back in 1984, Vickie Hutchins and Jo Ann Martin were next-door neighbors raising their families in Delaware, Ohio. They were two moms with small children looking for a way to do what they loved and stay home with the kids too. They shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family & friends. After many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
Today, Gooseberry Patch is best known for its homestyle family-friendly cookbooks and line of art calendars. With more than 200 titles and nearly 9 million copies in print, plus a new collection of eBooks, Gooseberry Patch has grown from a kitchen-table operation to a nationally recognized best-selling publisher. Affordably priced from 99 cents to $16.95, the books are themed with today's time-strapped, budget-conscious families in mind. Many recipes include personal stories from contributors, giving the cookbooks a warm community feel that has proven extremely popular among cookbook fans and collectors.
