3rd African Entertainment Awards (AEA) Malaysia 2012 honors Lucky Dube! Bigger, Better & Bolder

AEA Malaysia 2012 is proud to honor the great Lucky Dube, the African Best Selling Artist and Best African Reggae Artist. During his lifetime the South African reggae star was a man on a mission to make the world a better place through music.

To celebrate the third edition of African Entertainment Awards (AEA) Malaysia 2012, a special tribute is in plans for the late African King of Reggae, Lucky Dube. This special musical tribute is put together by the African artists from every region of the continent and will be performed live in front of thousands of Lucky Dube fans at the event.  
Created by CEO Andy Daniel in 2010, the AEA Malaysia celebrate the finest in African culture from around the Asia and the world, featuring the best African artists, actors, firm makers and producers. The awards are also dedicated to recognizing emerging Afro Asian talent and the AEA Malaysia winners once again shows this commitment to supporting the grassroots scene.
Andy Daniel said: “The awards were first set up to recognise the growth and importance of African talents in Asia. The event has grown each year and now attracts popular African stars and established African artists from around the world. The 2012 awards are going to be the most impressive to date and it only feels right to give some support to the large number of up and coming Asian talents still trying to get their big break, through the AEA Malaysia”
AEA Malaysia nominations open this week and runs until March. To nominate, all entries must be sent via email and sms services. For the music categories, all entries must include a short biography of the artist or band, 3 songs in mp3 format, a photo and the categories selected. The top 5 Nominated names will be announces after three weeks allowing the public to vote for their favourite African acts in 20 categories. AEA Malaysia is the only official awards recognising and celebrating African talents in Asia and plans to become as recognisable as the MOBO Awards and NEA. Artists who have previously performed at the event includes MI, Kechup, Promiseland, Jbyno, Justin Kingland, DJ Phatbeatz, Winky D, Wade and many more.
This year event will feature the likes of Awilo Longomba, Navio (Uganda), Styl-Plus (Nigeria), John Dumelo (Ghana), David Osei (Ghana), Stunna (Zimbabwe), Jhybo (Nigeria), James Baum (Malaysia), Sasi The Don(Malaysia), Purevibracion (Malaysia) and a special tribute performance from Lucky Dube’s Daughter Nkulee Dube.
