Vibrant Woman Conference Focuses on Women's Health
Vibrant Woman, a free women's conference, will be held Saturday, May 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Library. The conference will focus on women's health; specifically cancer prevention, supplements, skincare, food and fitness.
Vibrant Woman will feature a number of talks by prominent local health and fitness professionals. Gilbert Simoni, MD, a board certified gastroenterologist, will discuss silent cancers that can be prevented and successfully treated with early detection. Local pharmacist Shirley Poon will explain how supplements work and their effectiveness for common female conditions. Aimee Sturges, M.A. will share practical daily tips and motivations to living a healthy life. Finally, Azita Simoni, M.D., a board certified dermatologist, will discuss the latest on procedures and skincare for anti-aging and protection.
"This is the second year we've held the Vibrant Women conference. The response from last year's event was overwhelming. Women want to learn how they can feel better and take better care of their body," says Cheryl Bisera, the event organizer. In addition to speakers, there will be door prizes, demonstrations and question and answer sessions with health experts.
Vibrant Woman is sponsored by Advanced GI, Inc. in Thousand Oaks and the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park. "With family and work responsibilities, women often don't spend enough time doing what's best for their body and health," says Katie Beck, executive director of the Miller YMCA. "The Y is a strong proponent of healthy living. We want everyone in our community to have access to opportunities in which to learn how to live a more healthy life. Vibrant Woman is one of those opportunities."
Refreshments will be provided. The first 100 attendees will receive gift bags. Register at the door or pre-register at AGImedical.com to be part of a special drawing.
