Cloudary Corporation Continues To Ignore Copyright Infringement Violations

March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- du8.com (www.du8.com) announced on March 21, 2012, that Cloudary Corporation , a Shanghai, China company, who plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), infringed on du8.com’s exclusive contract.

du8.com is a Chinese eBook portal, which signed exclusive license contracts with hundreds of thousands of authors, has owned exclusive digital rights of all books written by these authors, for more than 10 years. Cloudary has been accused of using these books for monetary gain and violated laws protecting  du8.com’s copyrights.

In the March 21st announcement, du8.com reported that they own the largest copyright resource in China and they found, after a review of only 1% of the licensed books in their inventory, that Cloudary infringed on hundreds of ebook copyrights.  du8.com anticipates that the total copyright infringement by Cloudary to be huge. This is an undisclosed risk in Cloudary’s prospectus.

Further, it has been known that Cloudary has participated in infringement on exclusive copyrights for years. du8.com noted that they tried to negotiate with Cloudary, but Cloudary was unresponsive. As a result, du8.com sued Cloudary and was successful in the lawsuit. However, Cloudary has not revised their practices and du8.com has had to initiate multiple lawsuits against Cloudary to protect the rights of du8.com and their signed authors.
