McCobb’s Aquatic Park In Wayne To Open April 7

New Jersey’s renowned restaurant McCobb’s in Wayne has announced their Aquatic Park will be open April 7 for the 2012 season

March 28, 2012 - PRLog -- As the spring season commences, McCobb’s Family Restaurant is happy to open their Aquatic Park to the public from April 7 to October 31.  The newly restored Aquatic Park features 450 feet of access to the scenic, trout-stocked Ramapo River. There are benches, a walkway to the river's edge, paths, and a boat ramp.  Patrons are encouraged to come and spend an afternoon fishing or boating, or simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the Ramapo while dining out on McCobb’s deck and patio.  The river will be trout stocked for fishing on April 7, 2012, and parking is free.
McCobb’s—formerly the Maple Snack Bar—originally opened in 1940 as a roadside hot dog stand, and has since evolved into a full restaurant, ice cream bar and Aquatic Park.
At McCobb’s, service has been a tradition dating back  to 1962 when Thomas Mamakos took over the former Maple Snack Bar.  Wanting to follow in their father’s footsteps, Thomas’ sons Dean and Spero began working at the Maple in 1967 at the ages of 12.
“The restaurant is like our laboratory, our school, social forum and home—all rolled into one,” said Dean Mamakos, co-owner of McCobb’s.  “It’s our culture.”
“It is awe inspiring when a resident that lives clear across the country in California knows the legacy of McCobb’s and our 72-year-old signature chili sauce,” adds Spero Mamakos.
Renowned for their famous chili sauce, McCobb’s has served quality comfort foods for the entire family since 1940. In addition to the restaurant and the Aquatic Park, last summer McCobb’s introduced Bike & Family Entertainment Night, featuring a unique blend of attractions and amenities, including live music and food promotions.
“McCobb’s will commence Monday Bike & Family Entertainment Night on April 1,” said Spero.  “Our Aquatic Park will open for fishing on April 7.  There will be live entertainment in our dining room on weekends, and live bands will be playing outside on Mondays and for fundraisers.”
Spero added that The Hackensack River Canoe & Kayak Paddle Club will make their annual trip along the Three Rivers Trail that ends with their take out point at McCobb’s Boat Ramp sometime in May.
Additionally, fishing and paddle lessons are in the works as well, along with Cruise Night for Classic Cars are amongst a few of the events planned for McCobb’s this spring/summer.
McCobb’s offers the ambiance, service and homely feel of a Mom & Pop style restaurant of the past with a modern and diverse menu and amenities.
