By: Springs Preserve Spring Break Camp Experience 180 acres of spring break fun! Day campers get face-to-face with a Gila monster, explore nature, make crafts, act out with Drama Kids and go for an indoor swim at the neighboring Y. Camps are presented in partnership with Drama Kids International and the YMCA. Ages 6-12. April 2 - 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily.* $180 members, $200 non-members. *Extended after-hours care available 6:30-9 am and 4-6:30 p.m. for an additional $25/week. Springs Preserve EggStravaganza Hop on by for an EggScavenger Hunt for kids of all ages, Egg Hunt (kids 5-under), bunny petting pen, pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, arts and crafts, food, live entertainment and much more. Made possible in part by the generous support of MGM Resorts International. Saturday, April 7, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Adults free, kids access activity pass $8 members, $10 non-members. Bike Rentals on the Exploration Loop Trail Let the good times roll as you rent bikes and wheel on down our 2.2 mile Exploration Loop Trail! Keep your eyes open for birds, wildlife and breathtaking views as you follow in the path of adventurous explorers and ancient peoples drawn to the artesian waters of the spring. Weekends and holidays, 10 a.m. – dusk or 6 p.m., whichever comes first. Bike rental is $6 members/ $8 nonmembers per hour, includes helmet. Child carrier rentals are available. Nevada Watercolor Society Spring Show The Springs Preserve is proud to present an exquisite array of watercolor paintings representing the 2012 Nevada Watercolor Society. See the works of local artists exploring still life, abstracts, portraits and landscapes utilizing the colors of the desert. On display through May 6,10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily in the Origen Museum. Free for members or included with GA. Wings over the Springs – Live Bird of Prey Show Meet and greet hawks, eagles, falcons, owls, ravens and more, and witness free-flight demonstrations at the Springs Preserve’s Wings over the Springs live bird of prey show. This exciting demonstration will expose you to the beauty of these amazing creatures and enhance your understanding of the role these majestic birds of prey play in sustaining our environment. Visitors will see a variety of birds that include: Eurasian Eagle Owl, Gyr Falcon, Saker Falcon, Barbary Saker Falcon, Lanner Barbary, African Hawk Eagle, Barbary, Red Necked Falcon, African Crow Raven. Then make sure you get a Backstage Pass to spend quality time up close and personal with these unique and rarely seen raptors. Offered Saturdays and Sundays at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. throughout April, daily April 2 – 6 for Spring Break,. **Backstage Pass: $10 members and non-members with paid general admission. A paying adult must accompany children under 5. All guests 2-up must be ticketed for the Backstage Pass and children’s classes. Animal Feeding Demonstrations Join our zoologists for feeding sessions with the animals in our native and desert-adapted live animal exhibits. Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. throughout April. Free for members or included with GA.
