-- Jotun Paints, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of paints and powder coatings, successfully organized its annual ‘Golf Challenge 2012’ charity event recently at the Doha Golf Club. Proceeds for this year’s event went to the Qatar National Cancer Society (QNCS), the country’s leading charitable institution focused on increasing awareness on the dreaded disease and provides assistance to needy cancer patients.
A total of 80 golf players participated in the event, composing of top senior executives and representatives from the decorative, protective and marine segments. This year’s winners included Steve Reid, Frank Harrigan, Adnan Rashid and Tami Al Hajri, finishing with a net team score of 60.
“We are very pleased at the large turn out for this year’s golf tournament, which demonstrates the strong show of support towards our chosen beneficiary, the Qatar National Cancer Society,” said Gunnar Eikebu, Country Manager Jotun Paints Qatar. “We would also like to thank the Doha Golf Club for supporting us in this event. Over the last seven years, we have maintained strong ties and have been the supplier of the paints used across the golf course’s many facilities. We remain truly steadfast in our commitment towards reaching out to the community, and in this case, be a major part in the continuous efforts to increase awareness on cancer and also extend assistance to patients who are in need of key medical attention.”
