Austin Mayor Proclaims May 12th as "Austin's STRUT 512 Day"

March 27, 2012 - PRLog -- STRUT 512 celebrates Austin's unique and eclectic culture with a fusion of local food, fashion, philanthropy, music, art and performing arts, giving guests the opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the place we call HOME.  

STRUT 512 attracts local movers and shakers, VIPs, and fashionistas, eager for this anticipated night of stress-free mingling, entertainment and palat-pleasing food and beverages.  The evening begins at 8:00pm with an array of Austin's finest food, drinks, and music.  Guests will also enjoy a silent auction, interactive live art, surprise performances, and lastly, the highly anticipated fashion show, all with the underlying goal of raising funds for CapCityKids.

A percentage of the proceeds benefit CapCityKids, a non-profit organization that develops innovative programs and provides direct resources to help homeless students stay in school.  Administrative costs for their programs are absorbed by the Board and the School District. Thanks to this close partnership, 100% of donations go directly to the students.  Fundraising events like STRUT 512 help CapCityKids not only provide basic school supplies, but also support campus based specialist for at-risk students, after-school tutoring at homeless shelters, and help connect kids with social services.
