Dentist Returns to his roots, joins Kingwood Smiles

Since growing up in the Kingwood community and graduating from Kingwood High School, Bryan Sorgen said it is an honor to be back in the community for work.

Sorgen recently joined longtime community dentist Dr. Ed Oppermann who has practiced in the Kingwood area since 1981 at Kingwood Smiles.

“I have grown up around health care which is something I enjoy and the reason I decided to enter the dentistry field. It is an honor for me to work with people in our community and help them; I like seeing the results such as a new smile,” Sorgen said.

Sorgen, who recently graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, is excited to be a part of the team and bring a youthful approach to the patients he treats.

With new generations and families always moving into the Kingwood area, Sorgen hopes with Kingwood Smiles’ modern dentistry it will have the opportunity to serve all of the families.

According to a press release, “We are very excited to have Bryan join the practice. It is interesting how many patients have indicated that his father, general surgeon Dr. Norman Sorgen, treated them or a family member and now he can treat them as well.”

For Sorgen, it is important to work with a fellow dentist such as Oppermann since they share the same morals and approach to dentistry.

Oppermann and Sorgen provide an extensive array of services such as general and cosmetic dentistry. They help patients with crowns, root canals, cavities and cosmetic needs like veneers and dentures.

“One of my favorite things are the kids who are my patients. They are always so fun and when they leave with a smile on their face, it is worth it,” Sorgen added.
