March 26, 2012 - PRLog -- On April 7th, 2012 international music artist and entrepreneur, Shyan Selah, will be launching a new live performance venue for the Tacoma community. "Adonai Cafe" (409 Puyallup Ave, Tacoma, WA) is designed to be a place where not only local and national music artists and bands can perform for the community, but also a fun and safe location to hold workshops, seminars and other outreach projects for community youth - further tying in Selah’s commitment to using the music and entertainment business model as inspirational tools in youth education.

At Adonai patrons can expect to not just be entertained, but also inspired by something altogether new and unique to the live music scene: The Showcase. This social weekly event attracts everyone from college students to artists, to professional athletes, to educators to local business owners. Every performance will feature a variety of genres from the Northwest’s hottest new bands playing everything from all forms of Rock to Hip Hop to Soul. April 7th’s lineup will include the following diverse rock bands: Stealing Carolina Fresh Paint, Fit for Hounds and Elbow Coulee. All will open for Selah’s band, Shyan Selah & The Republic of Sound, which plays a fusion of rock, soul, and hip hop music. The event is sponsored by Pacific Lutheran University.

“BNW Global has now expanded its territory to the Tacoma area with its very own venue space with Adonai Café,” said Director of Promotions, Lance Azucena. “And in the promotion of great rock music we have booked a line up of folk-rock, punk-rock and alternative-rock to go alongside Shyan Selah’s fusion rock style. As a fan of good music, I’m greatly looking forward to April 7th.”

After the April 7th music concert, Selah’s entertainment firm, BNW Global™ will host a series of weekly events at Adonai Café in between continued renovations for the venue that will include a built-in stage and wall murals depicting Northwest music legends. Once renovations are completed, the venue will be open to the public as a full service café and venue that can also be rented out to local organizations and entertainment companies for special events.

“The live music scene in the Northwest deserves something more,” says Shyan Selah. “There are literally thousands of aspiring artists, singers, songwriters and bands that are worthy of having an honest opportunity to be discovered. Adonai is going to be a different experience for them as it won’t just be about performing at a local bar; it will be about having a total music experience.

Adonai will serve as a resource center in assisting artists. We’ll have information, workshops, conventions, bringing in record labels, publishing companies, music journalists, etc. We want this place to be a home for industry people and a trusted source for furthering careers.”

Selah said two specific individuals also influenced him in creating this venue.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time in the model of two of the best individuals to ever do it – Isaac Tigrett and Gary Belz – being that they created Hard Rock, House of Blues and B.B. King’s Blues Club. It’s really just all about causing communities to thrive by delivering great talent on the stage and taking some responsibility as a venue in assisting moving careers along.”

Below is a tentative schedule for April’s weekly events:

April 14th – THE SHOWCASE – IN HONOR OF NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
This event brings poets, spoken word artists and hip hop artists together to perform their own original pieces in honor of National Poetry Awareness Month. The unified theme of each performance piece will center on the subject of Peace.

April 21st – THE SHOWCASE – BNW YOUTH ROSTER
On the 21st this will feature five young artists signed to development deals with Brave New World Records who range in age from 15 to 18 years old. They will perform music sets that incorporate top 40, classic favorites and their own original songs for their fans, family and the surrounding community. These artists have been the cornerstone of many BNW Showcase events in Tacoma.

April 28th – MUSIC WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG AND BEGINNING ARTISTS
BNW’s Music and Business Classes and Workshops are created by Shyan Selah, a Music Artist, Activist and Entrepreneur, who has over ten years of experience in the entertainment business.
