Wisebeye.com Launches New Website Promoting "Buying Locally" for North American Cities and Towns

March 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Wisebeye.com has recently launched a website to promote "buying locally", and offering free advertising to local independently owned businesses.

Mike Gerardy, founder of Wisebeye.com realized that there is a fast growing movement within small and large communities that are becoming aware of the importance of buying locally, and how it can dramatically affect their local economy.  In fact, we now see many major cities in the U.S. and Canada that have groups and organizations that are out supporting buying local.

"Buy Local" may have different meanings, but in this case it has to do with buying from our local independently owned businesses, and avoid buying from the large corporate chain stores and franchises.  By doing so, it can dramatically strengthen the local economy because when we buy from a local independently owned business, more of the money (in fact most of it) stays within the community.

What Wisebeye.com does is promote buying locally by offering local independently owned businesses absolutely free advertising.  The stipulation is that the advertisement must offer a sale, special, or a "deal" of some sort.  In this way, the local consumer can see that even the smaller local businesses can offer just as much, or even more, than the big box stores.  

The free ad, or listing, includes an image, a title of the offer, a description of the offer with up to 400 characters, an individual page with only their ad displayed, a link to their own website, and a Google map of their store location.  Each listing also has a share function to share that great deal with friends on Facebook, Twitter, and the like.  This is absolutely free, and only takes minutes to register.

Retail stores, many service oriented businesses, grocery stores, restaurants, and even gas stations can advertise for free on Wisebeye.com, as long as they qualify as a local independently owned business.

"It's a win win win situation" says Gerardy.  "The retailer wins because of free advertising which increases sales and profits, the consumer wins because they now have the opportunity to find great deals which they may not have known about previously, and by buying locally, the local economy also wins".  And of course Wisebeye.com also benefits.

At this point in time Wisebeye.com derives it's revenue from some banner advertising, but it's main goal is to have the consumer subscribe to an email list which eventually will be used for a coupon campaign.  The coupon campaign will also be for  local
