March 25, 2012 - PRLog -- New Jersey nonprofit organizations often count on the success of community fundraisers to provide the income needed to continue doing their good work.
In northern and central New Jersey, there is a network of community websites that has become a reliable public relations and promotional partner for many of the region's nonprofit organizations.

Organizations ranging from Gilda's Club NNJ, to the Boys and Girls Clubs of NJ, and many, many other great nonprofit groups, count on mybergen.com, myhudsoncounty.com, yourhunterdon.com, yourmorris.com and yoursomerset.com to get the word out to a huge northern and central New Jersey audience, about their organizations' fundraisers and special events.

Here are a few New Jersey nonprofit events from the Point Media network of county websites:

“Casablanca” Casino Night in Basking Ridge to benefit Children in Foster Care
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, Inc. (CASA SHaW) will be hosting its fourth annual “CASAblanca” Casino Night Fundraiser to be held on Friday, April 20th at 7:00 pm at the Basking Ridge Country Club in Basking Ridge, NJ.
All proceeds from this event will support CASA SHaW’s mission, which is to recruit, screen, train, and supervise community volunteers to act as advocates in court for children in foster care. Their advocates are appointed by a family court judge to independently assess the children’s current level of functioning, develop potential interventions, and make recommendations to the court that support the child’s current needs and future permanency outcomes.
This year’s event honors Scott and John Tourville of Zeus Scientific, long-time supporters of children’s causes in the community. Showing their support for these honorees, Elberon Development, Norris, McLaughlin, and Marcus Law Firm, and Able Leasing have each signed on as sponsors of the event.
Individuals and businesses in the community which also wish to show their support by purchasing tickets or becoming a sponsor can call CASA SHaW’s executive director Tracey Heisler at 908-689-5515 or via email at tracey@casashaw.org for more information.
CASA of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties is part of a statewide network of community-based, non-profit programs that recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to “Speak Up for a Child” removed from home due to abuse or neglect. CASA is the only program in New Jersey that uses trained volunteers to work one-on-one with children, ensuring that each one gets the services needed and achieves permanency in a safe, nurturing home.

Go the Distance for Autism Bike Event Raises Funds for Autism Education
The third annual Go the Distance for Autism Bike Event will be held on Sunday, May 6 at Bergen Community College in Paramus. The event is a collaborative effort by four northern New Jersey schools for learners with autism – Alpine Learning Group in Paramus, The EPIC School in Paramus, Garden Academy in Maplewood and REED Academy in Oakland. This is great opportunity to join forces with parents and professionals to raise awareness about the needs and challenges faced by children and adults with autism. I am proud to have championed the passage of Combating Autism Reauthorization Act last September, which is vital to ensuring that research programs continue finding breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatment, and that training and intervention programs continue providing families the tools they need to better understand and manage autism.”
