Follow on Google News | Nominations now being accepted for Iowa Governor's Volunteer AwardsAll Iowa nonprofit, charitable, and government organizations are able to submit nominations for this year's Iowa Governor's Volunteer Awards. A presentation ceremony will be held in Council Bluffs in June.
By: Richard Warner The Governor’s Volunteer Awards program provides an opportunity for organizations to give state-level recognition to those exceptional volunteers and thank them for their commitment. According to local program committee chair, Dr. Richard Warner, Governor Branstad and and Lt. Governor Reynolds will be in Council Bluffs to personally present the awards at the Western Historic Trails Center auditorium, 3434 Richard Downing Avenue, on June 27. A special program to highlight the spirit of volunteerism is planned for the event by the committee which in addition to Warner consists of Ralph Wright, Karen DeForest, and Gary Emenitove. The deadline to submit nominations for the volunteer awards is April 6. Nomination forms are available at www.volunteeriowa.org. End
