-- Upstart Productions is pleased to announce that the Upstart Concerts’ GO WEST FEST will take place Saturday, April 7th, 2012 from 3PM until 1AM as the inaugural West Dallas Music Festival.
After a fruitful partnership with the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce for the Bridge-O-Rama festival, Upstart Productions decided it was the perfect time to herald the renewed focus on West Dallas for new cultural activity. In presenting GO WEST FEST, Upstart Productions hopes to spark interest in the area for local businesses, galleries, and theaters.
GO WEST FEST will be a day of local art, music, qpgfh and food, and a celebration of the ever expanding city of art. After decades of work, the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge will soon lead into West Dallas, the diverse and culturally rich corridor towards Oak Cliff. Upstart Productions would hate for Dallasites to regard the bridge to West Dallas as the "bridge to nowhere," when there has already been so much art and music happening in the area.
Acknowledging the fact that most people won’t venture places that haven’t established a strong personality or reputation, this is the critical time for Dallas to GO WEST! - There are no greater ambassadors than the artists that create work for Dallas.
GO WEST FEST will take place at THE NEST, the performance venue for Upstart Productions’
spring offering, THE BETTER DOCTOR by Matt Lyle (April 27th-May 19th). The inspiration for GO WEST FEST came from the multidisciplinary nature of THE BETTER DOCTOR. Upstart is excited to be a part of the new future for West Dallas, and invites you to do the same.
