March 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Cars have been around for almost one hundred years now and they are becoming more of a statement than a mode of transport to get from point A to point B.

Cars are becoming more practical and sporty. Everyone wants their dream car nowadays but sometimes you have to stop and think is this car practical for me to use. There are a few things you should think about before rushing in and buying your dream car whether it be new or used.

Firstly the amount of fuel the engine will use, the greater the engine size for that type of car, the more fuel it will consume. You have to think how often you will use your car and how much it will cost you in fuel. This is even more important now because of the rising fuel prices, will you be able to afford to run it?

Secondly, think about how much the car will cost to fix if it breaksdown, high performance car parts are a lot more expensive that a basic model, this doesn't apply as much if you are buying your car brand new because usually they come with a warranty for a few years, however you have to think what might happen to it once the warranty is up.

Next is it worth buying a brand new car instead of one that is a few months old. You will get the exact same thing, it just won't be new out of the showroom and this is when it loses most of its value the quickest. As soon as you get a new car out of the showroom it loses 11% of its value so it could be worth considering buying it used.

You also need to think about the manufacture of your car and who you want to buy from. Choose a reliable manufacture so that you know you will get value from the car. Different brands have different styles and you need to choose one that appeals to you the most.

Finally check how much it will cost you to insure your dream car before you rush off to buy it. If it is a used car we would advise you to check the history on it to see if has been in any collisions. In addition to this look for a car with a good service history, you then know that the car has been maintained well by its previous owner and you will have less trouble with repairs.

Buying your dream car after taking Driving Lessons Leeds is a great feeling, but make sure that you know what you're buying and planned out how you will afford it.
