Food Truck Throwdown Hosted by OC Green Market
New monthly event will feature different food trucks from Orange County competing in varied challenges.
Competitor #1 is Seabirds Truck, featuring fresh, local, organic vegan fare. The Birds will be showcasing their vegan chili.
Competitor #2 is Eat Em Up Truck, headed up by Chef Eddie. He is proud to represent good ol' fashioned meat chili. The meat will be hormone and antibiotic free.
Competitor #3 is BITE ME FOODS Truck, also serving local, organic seasonal food. Alissa and Ricky will be sharing Grandma's Secret Recipe for vegetarian chili.
Unlike the Food Network show this event is modeled after, the first fifty people in the audience will be the judges, giving them the opportunity to voice their opinions and interact in this fun event.
The competition will begin at 11 am. Full menus will also be available for purchase. Free admission and parking.
Every month on the Second Saturday OC Green Market will host different food trucks competing in different challenges.
As a family oriented outdoor destination open from 9am - 2 pm, OC Green Market will also feature eco-friendly vendors, holistic practitioners, live music, face painting, a bounce house, non-profit organizations and free electronics recycling.
Seabirds Truck, founded by Stephanie Morgan or "Mama Bird", was featured on the Food Network's "Great Food Truck Race" last year and although eliminated, Seabirds succeeded in bringing positive attention to the vegan menu and lifestyle – eliminating the consumption and use of animal products and making it look cool and sexy. They’re "squashing that vegan stigma, that it’s crappy food or rabbit food".
Eat Em Up Truck was founded by Chef Eddie and his two business partners with a desire to offer "everyday American street food with a twist" in the community they grew up in. They use natural and organic ingredients whenever possible and can customize their menu upon request.
BITE ME FOODS Truck was founded by Alissa Grenis and Richard William Larner. Alissa studied marketing in college but decided to pursue her dream of opening an organic restaurant on wheels, serving fresh, local and seasonal healthy food - usually under 500 calories.

After becoming unemployed and while looking for work, Rana Sabeh decided to create OC Green Market as a new opportunity for herself and others in Orange County. OC Green Market is the first and only outdoor market dedicated to eco-friendly products and services, holistic/alternative therapies and non-profit organizations. The mission of OC Green Market is to provide a different kind of marketplace, where a family or individual can visit and find a variety of activities to participate in as well as educate themselves on the benefits of and how to live a green and healthy lifestyle.
