About Zhenghe county:
Zhenghe county is located in the northwest of Fujian province, located near Fuding, another county, more coastally located. The two counties are both important in white tea production.
About the new category:
The new category, relatively sparsely populated for the moment, includes teas from Rishi Tea, an important loose-leaf tea company that is a leader in sustainability, and from Jing Tea Shop, a small company founded in 2004 and selling loose-leaf specialty teas. The category includes both silver needle white tea (bai hao yinzhen) and white peony tea (bai mu dan).
It is likely that there are a number of other teas already included in RateTea's database that actually are produced in Zhenghe county, but that have not yet been classified into this category because the information is not yet available. RateTea will add new teas to this category as new information becomes available.
