-- London, UK: The Head of Osun State, Govenor Rauf Aregbesola will make history on Thursday 22nd March 2012, as the first African head of Government to give a lecture at a leading modern University. Governor Aregbesola, who trained as an Engineer, is expected to lecture on "The current Technological and Educational challenges and opportunities."
Governor Aregbesola is speaking on the invitation of Oxford University-educated Professor Patrick McGhee, who is currently the leader Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of East London.
The lecture will take place at the ultra-modern hall which was opened by her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in February 2007. Governor Aregbesola will be following of the footsteps of prominent public figures and heads of state including Prime Minister David Cameron who addressed the same University on February 8th 2010. David Cameron discussed the same theme the African Head of Government has been invited is hoping to speak on - the key challenges and opportunities facing education particularly universities.
A spokesperson for the ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk (EIE) program who partners with various governments and supports the academic achievement of students, including children from disadvantaged pjzyg background, commended such collaborative initiatives between universities and Heads of government.
