$250k Raised:Designer Studio Showcase Milan Fashion Wk Designers-Hire Asha Spacek and UR SUPERMODELS

March 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The fashion show is one anticipated element of The Annual Hamdard Gala, usually held in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois- the base of the dot org. November 2011, the agency's 19th year, and second consecutive year, in which producer Luna Malik-Bunari of Designer Studio, involved both Asha Spacek, the artistic director & founder of UR SUPERMODELS, INC., and since 2008, has hired runway models of UR SuperModels. Few of 1,000 guests, the November fundraiser raised nearly $250,000- quite repeating for the Hamdard organization.

International Fashion Weeks [including Milan, 2010] & US Fashion Weeks [vastly current] have certainly become familiar with south asian designers like Deepak Perwani and Rizwan Beyg (2011 showcase), Umar Sayeed, aka "Valentino of Pakistan," (2010), and leading designers HSY and Nomi Ansari have all been designers Luna has put on the Chicago runway of events like the Hamdard Gala to help increase audience attendance, as well as awareness to the in-demand couture brands she represents.

Designer Studio always looking to shake up their community with entertainment amidst its fashion events, incorporating 'fashion week' type styling and choreography, the collaboration began in 2008, when Bunari hired models of UR SuperModels, after notice their company imagery and showcases seemed parallel in approach.  

Luna witnessed Spacek displaying hands-on management while overseeing the new face and development models backstage, as well as the extent of her will to contribute to production, for a good show. Bunari accepted the aide of Asha in 2010 for the Hamdard Gala, featuring Umar Sayeed in backstage direction and event consulting. Came 2011, Studio officially hired not only runway models at URSM, but Asha as fashion show director, stylist to pair and fit over 100 runway looks, runway director, and other needed production tasks.

Asha noted: "New Face UR models like [now] 15 year old Ania Drozdzewicz, whose dream to be on such a 40 foot runway was thrilled- so much grace and gratitude for a young model. I could hear the lump in her dad's throat when he called to thank me for the wonderful opportunity for his daughter to walk in such a big show. He pleaded: 'never quit what you are doing, Asha. These girls really need you, and they listen to you, even when you may think, they do not! You have made our family so happy and we know this is just the beginning for Ania and UR SuperModels.' Those sentences have forever touched my heart, and replay in my head on the days I feel my market doesn't understand our vision of catapulting this international city- shows like Luna are fewer than they should be here [Chicago]. The emerging fashion talent is unbelievable, but we are not yet 'that' community, which can be discouraging, but also motivating. Part of our mission is to work with internationally diverse brands, as well as help causes like Hamdard, and producers like Luna WOW their guests. Whether UR's role is as big as fashion production, or expected as, providing models, hair and makeup artists, we want to be involved, " Asha reflects.  

Both Asha Spacek and UR SuperModels are undergoing a major transition; not only in their brand awareness, but focusing more on their long term structure, and less on having a big, predictable, roster. Spacek and the budding company, have already made some impact on fashion trends, production firsts, and style awareness in Chicago, but now the goal is to focus less on local acceptance, and cater more resource to core positioning. They have also increased their amount of "give back," efforts, including volunteering, speaking, and non-profit awareness.

Luna Malik-Bunari was heard to have launched Designer Studio in both NYC and possibly Washington.
