Follow on Google News | Social Justice Foundation Donates $10,000 to the Canadian Hero FundAt a ceremony marking Remembrance Day for Turkey, the Canadian Hero Fund was presented with a $10,000 donation from the Social Justice Foundation.
The ceremony began with a presentation by H.E. Hikmet Çetin, former Senior Civilian Representative to the NATO Secretary General in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and concluded with the presentation of the Social Justice Foundation’s donation to the Canadian Hero Fund, in support of the children of Canadian Forces personnel who were killed in Afghanistan. “We are incredibly grateful to the Peace and Social Justice Foundation for their generous donation,” said Greg Anthony, Director of Operations at the Canadian Hero Fund. “These funds will go directly to the children of our Canadian Forces personnel who were tragically killed in Afghanistan. I hope this ceremony today is only the beginning of a close relationship between our organizations.” Since it inception in 2009, the Canadian Hero Fund has awarded five post-secondary scholarships and continues to be a leading voice in support of Canadian military families. The Peace and Social Justice Foundation advocates peace and social justice for all, and purports that despair is temporary while hope is eternal. It is the motto of the organization to remember and honour the losses while aspiring to a positive and productive future. About Canadian Hero Fund: Founded in 2009, the Canadian Hero Fund is a registered charity dedicated to assisting military families, with a focus on grassroots initiatives and youth engagement.
