March 19, 2012 - PRLog -- In response to strong interest in its wireless data center energy monitoring solution, Packet Power announced that is has strengthened its product line and greatly expanded its network of distribution partners.  The company now offers 101 different power monitoring devices and a full environmental monitoring solution.  All of the monitoring devices use a robust, secure wireless network optimized for use in data centers.  This expanded product set is now sold and supported by partners in 23 countries around the world.

Packet Power has strengthened its product set by:
•   offering its EMX energy monitoring application as software that can be installed at a customer’s location.  Previously, it had only been available as a cloud-based service.  EMX now also features support for multiple languages, including French, German, Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English.
•   adding wireless panel-based power monitoring to its original “smart power cable” approach.  This adds two important capabilities: monitoring high-power circuits up to 2,000 amps and the ability to install the solution without any disruption in the access to power by the monitored devices.
•   introducing version 2 of its Environmental Monitor with support for up to eleven temperature probes per monitoring unit and the ability to track differential pressure.  The new product also provides dry contact monitoring.
•   embedding its wireless monitoring into power strips manufactured by Geist Manufacturing (announced separately)

“We are delighted to extend our easy and affordable approach to data center monitoring to include whatever combination of device, cabinet and panel-based monitoring is appropriate for a given data center,” said Paul Bieganski, PhD., Packet Power’s CTO.  “And offering our EMX application as both software and a hosted service allows customers that are reluctant to rely on shared services to run the full application within their enterprise.  This is particularly important to large enterprises and our rapidly growing customer base outside North America.”
