March 15, 2012 - PRLog -- (Center Moriches, New York) — On March 11, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Center Moriches. Camp Director Bridget Costello joined some of the campers in showing their Irish pride as they performed traditional Irish music with their “instruments” as their float traveled the parade route on Main Street. The campers and volunteers decorated the float with shamrocks, and green, white and orange balloons.

The Moriches Paquatuck Squaws also had a float in the parade. Donning the theme “20th Century Irish Americans,” the float was adorned with a rainbow, Irish flags and photographs of celebrities and political figures with Irish heritage, such as former presidents John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, author Tom Clancy, actor Harrison Ford, New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and tennis player John McEnroe, among others.

Local elected officials and members of the parade committee were on hand to observe the floats from the Town of Brookhaven Showmobile. At the end of the parade, the committee decided that the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws had the best float in the parade. The Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck float took third.
