Exclusive Online Classifieds Experience Launches in Greater New York City

This newly launched website encompasses all of Greater New York (Including the Hudson Valley, Long Island, North Jersey and Fairfield County, CT) and provides its users with a free online classifieds experience that they’ve never seen before.

“The idea was simple” says co-founder Justin Poet, “take the simplicity of an online classifieds website and inject the fun, excitement and entrepreneurialism of the auction format.” Which is exactly what New York’s latest startup, HasToOffer.com, has done with the launch of its free service. Users can post auction-style classifieds, sell their items and arrange for payment and pick-up, just as they would with any other local classified site.

Approximately fifty-percent (50%) of internet users have used an online classified ads website and almost ten-percent (10%) use these sites on a daily basis. A figure that nearly doubled over the previous four years, according to a 2009 study by the Pew Research Center.  “Millions of Americans are using online classified and auction websites everyday. We created a tool that will be familiar and comfortable to these users, yet allow them to forget traditional classified sites” says Poet.

HasToOffer is a 2012 startup that was created by Justin Poet and Brian Leonard, two New York natives that wanted to create an improved experience for internet users. “The New York metropolitan area just seemed like a natural fit for our first site” says Leonard, “… its cutting-edge, full of early adopters and of course right in our back yard. It was a no-brainer.”
