Cool Jazz Countdown Host to Emcee Autism Awareness and Fundraising event - “PUZZLING DISORDER 2”
On Saturday, March 31, Cool Jazz Countdown host, Marcellus “The Bassman” Shepard will emcee “Puzzling Disorder 2 - An exhibition of fashion & style”. All proceeds will benefit The Forbush Therapeutic Pre-School at Towson”.
Puzzling Disorder is an annual fashion show created to help raise funds for The Forbush Therapeutic Pre-School’s playground fund and promote Autism awareness within Maryland. Sponsored by HGE, a Baltimore-based fashion company, the event will also include a meet and greet with the participating designers and photo opportunities with some of the city’s most talented photographers.
About Marcellus “The Bassman” Shepard
Marcellus “The Bassman” Shepard is an on-air radio personality in commercial and public radio. With 18 years of experience behind him, he is well known for his distinctive deep voice, which he uses for his afternoon drive shift, “In the Groove”, on WEAA 88.9FM in Baltimore, MD and as co-host of the nationally syndicated “Cool Jazz Countdown”. No stranger to the live stage, he has emceed such events as the Detroit International Jazz Fest, Cape May Jazz Fest, Raul Midon, many Jazz great tributes and broadcasted live from the Curacao North Sea Jazz Fest. In 2011, he was awarded the BALTIMORE JAZZ AWARD FOR BROADCASTING Excellence at the Baltimore Jazz Awards and was also voted the #20 DJ in the country on RadioFacts.com – Radio’s Online Information Station. The Forbush Therapeutic Preschool at Towson serves students between the ages of three to seven. The program provides special education and related services to children with autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), developmental delays in one or more areas, severe behavioral and emotional problems, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders. The Therapeutic Preschool Program is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. Located in the Gibson building on the Towson campus of Sheppard Pratt, this 12-month program operates on a full day basis, five days a week.
