Follow on Google News | West Michigan Youth Symphony to Perform Spring Concert in Frauenthal TheaterThe West Michigan Youth Symphony will showcase talented young musicians from throughout West Michigan on Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m. in downtown Muskegon’s Frauenthal Theater.
By: Mary Ann Sabo This program will include Dvorák’s “Slavonic Rhapsody No. 2,” John Williams’ music from the movies “Star Wars” and “Superman,” Members of the Youth Symphony have earned a spot in the ensemble through an audition process and they participate in weekly rehearsals at Muskegon Community College. The members represent 17 middle and high schools from Hart and Montague to the north, Fremont and Casnovia to the east, Zeeland to the south and points inbetween, with additional student members from Grand Valley State University and Muskegon Community College. “We are fortunate to have such a talented group of young musicians for our annual spring concert,” said Daniel M. Meyers, Youth Symphony music director and conductor. “We are looking forward to sharing this exceptional concert experience with our audience members.” Tickets for the concert are available in person at the West Michigan Symphony office at 425 W. Western Avenue, Suite 409, Muskegon, or at the door on the day of the concert beginning at 2:15 PM. Adult tickets are $10, seniors (65 and older) are $5, and students are free (18 and younger or with a college ID).
