March 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Fort Collins, CO — CollegeAmerica has added yet another interesting emphasis to its lineup of healthcare degrees. The college has now introduced a Bachelor’s of Science in Healthcare Administration degree with a Biomedical Clinical Specialties emphasis.

Biomedicine refers to the application of biological and other natural science principles to clinical practice. The areas of clinical practice that biomedicine can be used for include healthcare research, monitoring, and treatment.

Biomedical students require a thorough understanding of natural science fields like microbiology, chemistry, physiology, psychology, pathology, etc.

Consequently, CollegeAmerica’s healthcare degree program with an emphasis in biomedical clinical specialties includes courses such as Introduction to Microbiology, Introduction to Chemistry, Psychology, Pathophysiology, Anatomy, and more.

In addition to courses that prepare students for the biomedical field, the program also provides students the competencies required to take on supervisory or managerial roles in a healthcare environment and to familiarize them with the business facets of healthcare.

Along with completing advanced theoretical courses, students enrolled in this program are also required to complete supervised clinical externships in areas like gerontology, neo-natal care, physical medical rehabilitation, and orthopedics.

The scheduled length of the program, which is available at the Fort Collins branch campus of CollegeAmerica, is 36 months. However, the college offers students looking for earlier-than-traditional graduation an opportunity to complete the program in just 30 months.

Applicants to this BS degree must have a high school diploma or an equivalent GED® credential. Eligible candidates can begin the enrollment process as soon as they are ready, as classes start every month at CollegeAmerica.

The admission process will involve meeting with a financial planner, who walks prospective students through the federal financial aid options for which they may qualify to fund their education.
