-- Former professional football player and superbowl champion, Lional Dalton attended Monsignor Pace High School on March 13, 2012 with The Prevention Team. The Prevention Team is an anti-bulling program designed to educate kids on the consequences of bullying. Also in attendance, was POM (Personal Ongoing Motivation), a devoted sponsor of The Prevention Team. The students were undoubtedly excited to see Lional Dalton waiting for them as they made their way into the assembly hall. Lional captured their attention immediately and held it throughout the entire event.
Lional spoke with the freshman class, exclusively. He first explained what bullying was and how it could be detected. Acts of bullying are not always as obvious as most think. Kids often engage in hurtful deeds that they do not even consider acts of bullying. This is why Lional chose educate the students on everything that bullying behavior actually encompasses first. He then went on to discuss the possible consequences of continued bullying. The kids responded very well to this, understanding that there are consequences for both the bully and the victim. The Prevention Team and POM are striving to make schools a safer environment for today’s youth. Since the two have joined forces, they really have been a magnificent force in the antibullying community.
They are pleased to be of such service to their community, but are also very excited to be bringing about more national awareness of the shockingly high incidence of bullying in America.
