13 Year Old Rallies Kids From Across Canada to Raise $500,000 for Attawapioskat

March 12, 2012 - PRLog -- On March 16, 2012, Wes Prankard, along with kids from across Canada will be camping out in the cold to raise funds and awareness for the housing crisis in Attawapiskat and other First Nations communities.

The housing situation - housing shortages, sub-standard housing and crowding - in Attawapiskat and many First Nation reserves in the James and Hudson Bay area has hit a crisis level. The housing crisis means that when children come to be placed in foster care, many of them cannot stay in their communities - willing foster families simply cannot accommodate them in crowded homes.

Moved by the housing crisis in the region, Wes looks to raise $500,000 in this year's Campout to help.  On March 14th, Wes is camping out for 50 hours. Wes is looking for 100 people who will sponsor him for $1.00 for everyone he camps out. He is also looking for 100 other individuals who will camp out with him or in their own communities, each of them asking 100 people to sponsor them for $1.00 for every hour.
