March 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Chicago Impressionist painter Gregory A. Page has garnered much attention in recent months throughout the art world following the sale of his original oil painting Cowboy Lips to renowned Dallas Cowboys CFO Shy Anderson, as well as his well-received art exhibitions, and his involvement with Loyola University in their charitable auction.
“The past few weeks have been exciting, and the excitement continues,” said Page. “I am working hard to share my work with the world, and it means a lot that my paintings are receiving recognition on an international level.”
What do art critics and art curators say about his paintings…'Van Goghesque with a pulse. The rich brushwork and color found in his paintings meld well with his subject matter, focusing on spirituality, love, and beautiful life experiences’. Page's works are raw and personal, with an expressive impasto application of paint.
''Oil painting is not photography,” Page states.  'The soul of the painter is in the freedom of his hand and the brush.”

Page recently sold two paintings to a collector in Seattle, Washington. “The paintings purchased were the two most popular pieces on my website. Husband and wife collectors were drinking a glass of wine and surfing art online, they happened to read a press release about my work, and checked out the www.ChicagoImpressionism.com website. They knew immediately that they wanted to add some of my paintings to their collection.”

In recent months is when Page really stepped up his efforts to promote his work to the world, and within a short period of time has sold several paintings.

“For me, becoming an artist has never been about worldwide recognition, fame and fortune,” says Page, who discourages the sale of original paintings. “It is about tapping into my artistic presence and capturing things I love, bringing them to life on a blank canvas, and sharing them with the world.”

In addition to the recent sales, Page has also been dedicating his time working with Chicago schools: Loyola University and Jones College Prep. A graduate school Loyola alum, Page donated two paintings to benefit underprivileged kids and education.

“When I first learned about the auction to benefit the children, I jumped on the opportunity to be part of it,” said Page. “It is crucial for people to be aware of the growing problems that challenge the youth of America, and we need to all step up and do our part to work towards a solution.”
