In addition to giving young people an opportunity to express themselves and receive global exposure, contestants can win $25,000.00 cash, a recording contract, and an educational scholarship.
The buzz is already generating accolades from the organizations who are involved. Matthew Earl Jones of Translight Pictures says “Jacob Latimore is a perfect role model for young people today. Talented and charismatic, he’s proof that a good guy can go far.”
Jeff Spenard, CEO and President of the VoiceAmerica Network added “I am very happy to be involved in such a tremendous opportunity for these very special and talented kids. We have had the good fortune to help the kids help themselves by providing a robust platform that is capable of bringing these talented young upcoming stars seamlessly to the world. VoiceAmerica is proud to be part of “Step Up To The Microphone.”
Kids X-Press Founder and Publisher Nivia Viera said with regard to their support “Writing songs is a powerful way for kids to communicate about their world. We are thrilled to support this contest that encourages self-expression through music and lyrics through our publication and website.”
“We are so excited to participate in this incredible opportunity. Our work with K-12 students will allow the triple threat winner to stay focused on the important fourth threat: success in school. We look forward to having the winner join our Horizons family!” said Leah Kimmet, Executive Director, Horizons Program at the New Canaan Country School
